Obituary of John Edward Wincek

John Edward Wincek, 83, of Plains Township, passed peacefully at his private residence on Saturday, October 22, 2016. John was born in Plains Township, on November 14,1932. He was one of ten children of the late John and Anna Starczyk Wincek. He attended local schools in Plains Township. John then served our country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army . After being honorably discharged, John began working for the Rifkin Company, Hanover Township. John was employed by the Rifkin Company for over forty years as a bag turner and laborer until his retirement. John’s only hobby was that of a gardener and his passion was filling his yard every summer with beautiful roses. John was a lifelong member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Sabol; Frances Fadelsak; Helen Jesikiewicz; brothers Stanley; Louis; Joseph; and Walter. He is survived by his sister Celia Wincek, Plains; several nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews. John’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00am in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
