Obituary of Thomas Frank Jakubiak

Thomas Frank Jakubiak, 66 of Harrisburg, died Friday, February 3, 2017, unexpectedly at his home. Mr. Jakubiak was born in Wilkes-Barre and was the son of the late Frank and Irene (Liberski) Jakubiak. He was an attorney for the Pa. State Police and a retired United States Naval Commander as the Attorney Judge Advocate General's Corps Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the Commander in Chief. His BAR memberships include; The American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Supreme Court, U. S, Court of Military Appeals, Supreme Court of the United States and Federal District of Rhode Island. He held a masters of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma at Norman, a LL.M., Law and Marine Affairs from the University of Washington at Seattle, Juris Doctor from Villanova University, Pennsylvania and a bachelor of arts, government from King's College in Wilkes-Barre. His professional memberships include Aquinas Society, Academic Fraternity, Pi Delta Epsilon, Honorary Journalism Fraternity. Phil Alpha Theta Honorary History Fraternity, Pi Delta Epsilon, Honorary Journalism Fraternity, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Pi Alpha Alpha, Honorary Political Science, American Academy of Political Science. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Rosary Council# 869, American Legion, NRA, Hunters and Anglers and Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and baseball fan who was looking forward to retirement this June to have the time to immerse himself in his various hobbies, his family and his many long-time friends from the Colonial Lounge, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, his work office, family and friends from Wilkes-Barre and with the people he remained friends with from around the world. He was a brilliant man who was always willing to share his knowledge, experience, talents and happy times with anyone who asked. Mr. Jakubiak is survived by his sister, Karen Gustin (Husband Tim) of Harrisburg; his nephew, Jarrad Gustin (Wife Bianca) of New Jersey. Interment service will be held on April 29,2017, at 11:00 a.m., in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plains. Rev. Jack Lambert, Paster of Ss.Peter & Paul Church will be the officiant. Military honors will be given by the United States Navy. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg, Pa. 17112. Arrangements are by the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc & the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.
