Obituary of Charlotte Mary Partash

Please share a memory of Charlotte to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charlotte M. Partash, 85, of Wilkes-Barre, passed on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 4, 1928, she was a daughter to the late Adam and Victoria Hopa Suchoski. She was one of eight siblings. Charlotte grew up in the Miner-Mills section of Wilkes-Barre and attended local schools. She worked in the local garment factories of Plains, until she met her husband George Partash. Together they have a son Thomas also known as "Timmy". She then took on the role of homemaker and caregiver. This term caregiver defines Charlotte's life. Due to the untimely death of her brother Thomas's wife, Nancy, she helped to raise his two child Thomas Suchoski and Lisa Thompson. Although they were her niece and nephew, they were like a son and daughter to Charlotte. As the children grew, Charlotte began to work again for Dana Perfume in Mountain Top. Charlotte, when not providing care to others, enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles, and attending services at Saint Benedict's Church, Parsons. She is preceded in death by all her sibling brothers: Thomas, Stanley, Francis, John, and sisters: Helen Kryeski, Stella Totino, and Constance Giza. She is survived by her son Thomas "Timmy" and his wife Pat, Woodland; several nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews, including Joey and Justin Thompson, who had a special place in Charlotte's heart. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. , 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Church, Plains, at 11:00 a.m. due to the renovation of St. Benedict's Church. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Hanover. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association, 613 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre, PA,18702.
