Catherine J. Farr, 61, of Harrisburg, passed on January 2, 2022, while in the care of the Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill. Born in Brownsville on November 4,1960, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Genevieve (Bakewell) Cvengros. When she was little they moved to Harrisburg where she attended Phillips Elementary School and was a graduate of Dauphin County Technical School, class of 1978. Catherine received her education in nursing and respiratory care while at school and joined the workforce upon graduation. After a few years, Catherine returned to her education and graduated with a degree in childcare. She loved working with children and loved her job. Anyone that worked with her at the Y.M.C.A of Harrisburg, Mullberry, or KinderCare, knew of Catherine’s passion for her job. After thirty years of her dedication to caring for children, she retired in 2014. Catherine married her husband, Michael S. Farr. Together the couple enjoyed touring the historic battlefields of Gettysburg and surrounding areas. Catherine also enjoyed making wreaths and hanging out in her beautiful backyard. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandsons. Catherine was preceded in death by her loving parents and her husband Michael who passed on October 13, 2015. Surviving are her daughter Jessica A. Gardner and husband Richard E., Jr, Middletown; step-son Ryan A. Farr, Hershey; grandsons Kaden C. Gardner and Devon J. Gardner; both of Middletown; sisters Cynthia Salway and her husband Roger, South Carolina, Carol Ritter and her husband Randy, Steelton; along with nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at the convenience of her family. Service arrangements have been placed in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains Twp.
