Robert (Bobby) Zuba, 69, of Plains Township, was welcomed home by the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2022, while in the care of the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in Wilkes-Barre, on September 20,1952, he was a son to the late Joseph and Helen Ostraszewski Zuba of Plains Township. Robert grew up on Rose Avenue and attended the Maffett Street Elementary School, and Sacred Heart School, Plains Township. Bobby also spent time at Step by Step where he loved to do arts and crafts and go on trips with the staff. He loved Polkas and music: especially the Beatles. He could listen to music all day long. He enjoyed watching old televisions shows like Batman, and the Monkees; and he also enjoyed building model cars and aircraft. Due to his health conditions, Bobby spent time residing at the Retreat State Hospital: Clarks Summit State Hospital: Cook Street in Plains Township with his caregiver: and the Highland Manor, Exeter. The family would like to thank each facility for the love and compassionate care shown to Bobby over the years. Robert joins in passing his loving mother Helen July 8, 2021, and father Joseph May 25, 1995, who loved him dearly. Surviving to mourn his loss are his sister Christine Zuba, Blackwood, NJ; niece Stephanie Marella (Anthony), Atco, NJ; nephew Jason Zuba, Williamstown, NJ; grandnephew Gavin Marella, Atco; and numerous cousins. Mass of Christian Burial and remembrance of Bobby will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp. The Rev. John Lambert, pastor, will be the celebrant of service. A visitation will be held in church prior to Mass starting at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow to peacefully lay Bobby to eternal rest and in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Plains, by the side of his mother and father.
