Michael E. Ziobro Obituary

Michael Ziobro, 69, of Hudson, passed away at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.


Born July 1, 1955, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth “Betty” Istok Ziobro.


He graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services from the University of Scranton. He retired from PPL Electric Utilities.


He and his wife enjoyed traveling especially to Aruba and he was also an avid fisherman.


He was a lifetime member of Exeter Hose Company Number 1. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge Number 442 and Valley of Bloomsburg Masonic Lodge. He was a past member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rev. Joseph Ziobro.


Surviving are his wife Elaine, daughter Leann Ziobro, Philadelphia; son Jared Ziobro and his wife Dr. Jila Rusavage, Harrisburg, sister Betty Ziobro and her husband Peter Kushner, Manning, South Carolina.


Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Hudson.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Mass will be officiated by the Rev. John Lambert, Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Plains. Those who plan on attending Mass, please go directly to church.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael's memory may be given to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 30 E.D. Preate Drive, Suite 108, Moosic, PA 18507
