Theresa Ann Swartwood, 76, of Nanticoke, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, while in the care of the Geisinger Hospital - South Wilkes-Barre Campus, her loving family was at her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on April 17, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Theresa Dehaut. Theresa grew up in the Rolling Mill Hill section of the city and attended local Wilkes-Barre schools and was an attendee of G.A.R. High School.

Theresa had worked for the Walmart Corporation as an associate in Wilkes-Barre for almost thirty years. She has transitioned with the company as it moved to the new stores in the city and finished her career about a year and a half ago due to health reasons. She was truly dedicated to her job and would rarely miss any time off. During this time, her loving husband Donald has been by her side for the last forty nine years. Since they were married on April 17, 1976, they have always been together and raised their 3 children, Donald, Robert, and Carla.

When she wasn't working, Donald and Theresa would take long car rides to a destination restaurant for dinner together or with the family. When she was at home, she enjoyed watching Law and Order, and spending time with her daughter, Carla, who has also helped taking care of her in her final years of her life.

Theresa was preceded in death by her loving parents, Francis and Theresa.

She is survived by her loving husband Donald, daughter Carla ,Nanticoke; sons Donald and his girlfriend, Holly, Kingston; and Robert, Kingston; sister Diane and her late husband John, Ashley; brothers Francis Dehaut and his wife LuAnn, Wilkes-Barre, and David Dehaut and his wife Janice, Georgetown, along with eight grandchildren, and her two dogs and three cats.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held this Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains.
