Obituary of Corrie L. Davis

Corrie Lee Davis, 49 years old, of Wilkes-Barre, transitioned into heaven on Sunday, February 9, 2025, while in the critical care of the Commonwealth Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre on January 8, 1976, Corrie was a son of Joy Davis and the late Corrie Lee McGahee. Corrie grew up in the north section of the city and attended Heights Elementary School and G.A.R. High School. All his life Corrie loved to cook and he dreamed of owning his own food truck. He started his cooking career working as a line cook or short order cook for Denny's, Perkins, Murray's Inn and lastly in 2021 for Hun's Westside Café. Nothing was more important to Corrie than God and his family. In 2016 Corrie was baptized at the Moving River Ministries of Wilkes-Barre. During this time the one person that was with him was Trista Sims. Corrie and Trista met in 2010 through mutual friends and have been together ever since. For the past fifteen years they have been building a family together and enjoying the love and the blessing God has been giving along the way. It's so hard to let Corrie go back to God. We here see the good things he was working toward and the steps he was climbing, but God needed him more in his kingdom. We love you and know Corrie's dream has come true in heaven. He is serving up food made with love in heaven. Corrie was preceded in death by his loving father. Surviving are his mother Joy Davis, Wilkes-Barre, his loving life companion, Trista Sims, Wilkes-Barre; daughters Shahara Hall, Hanover Twp; KorriLeigh Davis, Wilkes-Barre; Ameerah Davis, Wilkes-Barre; and Maleekah Davis, Wilkes-Barre; Son Amias Davis, Wilkes-Barre; step daughter Tiarra Rivas, Kingston; step son Baseer Isaac, Hanover Twp., grandchildren Legend; Layla; Kashius; and Kaylauna; brother Kevin Davis, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Yvette Davis, Avoca, Corinne Davis, Wilkes-Barre; Nyree Mason, Wilkes- Barre; Leah Williams, Jacksonville Florida. Also, several nieces & nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held for Corrie at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, on Friday, February 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. led by Pastor Adam McGahee of the Moving Rivers Ministries. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
