The first time I remember meeting Bernie was at Breakers sharing an IPA together. From a quick story, to a cold beer, to a game of quarters, his smile and laugh always made you feel at home. His presence will surely be missed by all who knew him. We will miss you Uncle bernie! My condolences go out to a family that loved him.

Bernie was the quintessential embodiment of what it means to be a friend. Bernie and Janet were the Santa Claus who set up Christmas while we carted our family off to Midnight Mass. Bernie was there to take over when my new puppy fell two stories off the Camp deck, rushing her to the "doggie hospital" laying her flat on a cutting board. Bernie could never walk home from work without joining the kids in a rowdy game of basketball in our driveway. His wood working ability was quite notable and we all have something that he skillfully crafted. Bernie and Janet made fabulous traveling companions enjoying many a warm beach or our incredible trip to England (a favorite of mine). My most poignant gift, however, was being able to share Bernie's last vacation. We toured Santa Fe and rode in a hot air balloon at the world famous Balloon Fiesta. It's our memories that will carry us through this difficult time.

Bernie has been a friend since grade school. He always had a smile on this face and a wonderful sense of humor. and then,along came Janet and his smile was absolutely glowing. They truly had a marriage and a love that was made in Heaven. And now, he is reunited with the love of his life his Darling Janet. It has been my honor to have known and loved Bernie and Janet Please accept my deepest sympathy

Having been a patient of Bernies when hw was at Carbondale, I developed a respect and liking for. He always made me feel well cared for and felt I was lucky to have such a high caliber talent right her \e in Carbondale. I was sorry for the day he moved on in his career. But our loss was the V.A.'s gain. Bernie was the best at what he did. To his family. I am sorry. He will always be a great guy and medical provider. God Bless! Bob Doyle Forest City, Pa.

Bernie was such a good friend. When Steve worked in California. I needed spinal injections and he was right there willing to drive me up 81 or down 81 whenever necessary with a smile on his face and news about his latest world music find. I regret I couldn’t watch you enjoy another meal of linguine and clam sauce, and couldn’t convince you to try a Duck doughnut! We have to be consoled by the fact that you and Janet are together again, rest in peace, Bernie old friend.
