Obituary of Bernard Mark Borowski

Bernard Mark “Bernie” Borowski of Hughestown passed away peacefully February 4 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. Bernie loved music, woodworking, traveling and his many friends. Bernie was born in Wilkes-Barre January 24, 1955 to Bernard and Dolores Borowski. He attended Marymount High School and graduated from Bishop Hoban High School . After graduation he attended King’s College where he received a Physician Assistant (PA) degree. He married his high school sweetheart Janet Rochelle Marek in 1975. In 2019 his beloved Janet passed away after a short illness. After graduating from Kings, he worked as a PA in Carbondale at the Whites Crossing Medical Center, He later worked at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, finally practicing at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center where he retired. For his entire medical career he was considered a skilled and knowledgeable medical professional. Bernie is survived by his brother Dave and sister-in-law Patricia Borowski, nephew David J. Borowski. niece Emily and husband Brian Branson; sister-in-law Carolyn Petraitis/Meyers; nephew Rick Petraitis, his wife Melissa and their son Kevin. Above all, Bernie was a fighter. “Do not go gentle into that good night,
