Obituary of David Brian Cannon

David Brian Cannon, 84, formerly of Plains Township, passed on Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born on July 27,1940, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late William Sr. and Olga Shymansky Cannon. David grew up in Nanticoke and attended local schools. He was attending Nanticoke High School when he left to join the United States Army. After he was honorably discharged, David returned home to begin working as a truck driver for Simpson in 1963. He stayed with the company as it transitioned over the next twenty-five years to Huddick Trucking. He then became an owner operator of his own truck and retired in 2004 after forty years of driving. During this time, on August 31, 1963, David married the love of his life the former Louise Schrader. The couple moved to the Plains area where they resided for over fifty years, and they raised their two children, David and Linda. He was also a loving grandfather to his three granddaughters. Dave was a lifelong member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish where he was also an usher for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Alice Figliomeni and Martha Regulski, and brother William Jr. Surviving are his loving wife of sixty-one years Louise, Wilkes-Barre; son David; daughter Linda Centrella and her husband John; granddaughters Adrianna; Gianna; and Lorelei Centrella; brothers Ronald and his wife Jane, Harold and his wife Marline, sister Adrianne Fine, along with nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Road, on Thursday, February 20,2025. Mass will be officiated by the pastor Rev. John Lambert. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Plains. Services are in the care of Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains Twp.
