Obituary of James W. Dickson

James W. Dickson James William Dickson, 69, of Luzerne, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at his home.
He was the son of the late Richard and Helen Dickson. He graduated from Wyoming Valley West and West Side Technical School.
He served four years in the United States Navy stationed in South Carolina on submarine duty with the US Ulysses S. Grant.
He was later employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot until he retired in 2013. Jim enjoyed camping, canoeing, traveling and also spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted son, a good friend to many and a fun-loving brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
James was preceded in death by his loving parents Richard and Helen.
Surviving are his family sisters Mary Dickson, Luzerne; Susan Baut, Shavertown, brothers Richard and his wife Jacqueline, Maryland; David and his wife Susan, Florida; and Andrew and his wife Kelly, Shavertown, along with nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inv.,55 Stark Street, Plains, this Sunday, February23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. when a funeral service led by Rev. James Quinn, pastor of the Bennett Presbyterian Church, Luzerne. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
