Christopher Kennedy, 56, of Wilkes-Barre, a loving husband and father passed on Thursday, March 13, 2025, after being stricken ill a few steps from his home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on August 28,1968, he was a son of the late Joseph Kennedy and Marion Horowitz. Chris grew up in the Wilkes-Barre area an attended local school. He was raised by his mother Marion and step father Thomas Marotti after they were married.

On June 14, 2017, Chris married the love of his life, Jammi Holbert. Together they moved to Wilkes-Barre and began to raised their daughter Aisleigh Khara Kennedy. She was a gift from God that Chris thanked him for everyday.

Being honest, Chris’s life was not a smooth road. He had many issues growing up and getting into trouble, not to mention losing his best friend, his sister Karen to a tragic death in 1997. Chris changed his life when he was now a husband and father. He made sure that he worked to provide for Jammi and Aisleigh the best he could working on his knees on a floor installers salary. If you knew Chris, he was there to help when he could. If he somehow wronged you in his past, he did his best to make amends. In the end, sometimes that is all was have is love and forgiveness.

Chris was preceded in death by his father Joseph Kennedy, mother Marian Marotti, step father Thomas Marotti, infant sister Maureen, and sister Karen and his best friend, Jesse Gydosh and the couple's first child that was a miscarriage.

Surviving are his loving wife of seven years, Jammi; loving daughter Aisleigh; sisters Laura (Keith) Winters, Williamsport; Joann (Mark) Salijko, Plains; brother Joseph (Michele) Kennedy, Pittston; and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, on Thursday, March 20, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Service for Chris will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
