Patricia Ann Tanner, 69, of Wilkes-Barre passed peacefully on Saturday, May 10,2025, while in the comforting care of the Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 27,1956, Patricia was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence Richards Wasilius. She grew up on Dagobert Street on the South Side of the city. Patricia attended city schools and graduated from E.L. Meyers High School, class of 1974. She continued her education at Luzerne County Community College pursuing her education in data processing. Patricia then began working in data processing, starting with PC Data and finishing her thirty-year career with Berkheimer Tax Administration.
Stepping back in time to Patricia’s family home just after the Agnes Flood. The family home was destroyed and many volunteers came to help. During this clean up she met a young man, Roger Tanner, who was helping with the recovery. A short courtship and the couple were married on June 15, 1974. The young couple resided in Wilkes-Barre, Arizona, Mountaintop and finally settled in Exeter where they raised three children: Denise, Sherri, and Andrew.
Patricia enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting, and reading many books, especially Stephen King Novels. As the family was getting a little older, they began camping at local sites from Moon Lake; Promise Land, to Ricketts Glen. With her husband Roger, they became social members of the Polish Club, Henry Club, and the American Legion.
In her retirement, Patricia enjoyed still reading and watching her favorite game shows. She truly enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren, and we knew she would still be by our family campfire. We love you and will see you again.
Patricia is preceded in passing by her loving parents Edward, and Florence; husband Roger; son Andrew; and brother Paul Wasilius.
Surviving are her daughters Denise( Bernard) Szafran, Plains; Sherri( Matthew) Tredinnick, Wilkes-Barre, grandchildren Molly; Abigail; and Tanner; sister Ann (William) Johnson; Florida; brother Edwin Wasilius, Wilkes-Barre, and several nieces and nephews.
