Marsha M. Kuczynski, 79, of Plains Township, passed peacefully while in the care of Allied Services Center City on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on November 30, 1945, Marsha was one of four daughters of the late Harold and Margaret (Barnes) Skordensky. She grew up in Laurel Run and attended Wilkes-Barre area schools and James M. Coughlin High School.

On April 26, 1969, Marsha married Richard Kuczynski, Sr. and resided in Plains where they raised their two children, Tanya and Richard Jr.

Marsha worked for Leslie Fay of Plains and Kingston for twenty years as a bundle girl until the company’s closure. She then began working for Penn Lock as an assembler until her retirement.

Marsha was an avid bowler at Lispi Lanes and Chacko Lanes in different leagues over the years. She also enjoyed playing weekly bingo at St. Mary’s School, where her children attended.

As the children became adults, Marsha celebrated summer with parties and family gatherings in the family pool and listening to music. It wouldn’t be a summer party without her zucchini cake or a few of her other tasty baked goods. As the season moved into fall, Marsha would cheer on her birds, the Philadelphia Eagles. She was a longtime fan.

Marsha will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Margaret, and her husband Richard Sr.

Surviving are her children, daughter Tanya and her husband, Gary Kohler, Taylor; son Richard Jr., and granddaughter Emily of New York; sisters Rose Drevenik, Wilkes-Barre; Shirley Martin, Plains, Paulette Yenchik, Bear Creek; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark Street, Plains. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
