Edmund F. Pachucki, 91, of Bear Creek, entered into eternal life Wednesday afternoon, July 16,
2025, at home, with his loyal companion, Zoey, by his side.
Born in Plains Township, he was the son of the late Adam and Josephine (Winiewicz) Pachucki.
Edmund grew up on Crow Street, where the bonds of childhood friendship became lifelong
connections. He graduated from Plains High School in 1951 and shortly after answered the call
to serve, enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1952. His service took him from Patrick Air
Force Base in Florida to Samson Air Force Base in New York, and eventually to Chaumont,
France, where he proudly served with the 48th Fighter Bomber Wing until his honorable
discharge in 1960. Edmund was a proud Korean War Veteran whose dedication to duty never
wavered.
After returning home, Edmund built a life rooted in hard work and integrity. He worked for
Sterling Equipment before joining the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15 in
New York City in 1962. Over the next five decades he became a respected member of the
union, earning recognition for 50 years of faithful service. He was also a proud member of the
RAM Club and American Legion Post 558 in Plains Township.
Edmund’s greatest legacy was his family. A loving father to Donna Marie Ward (Glenn),
Stephen Pachucki (Nicole), and Joann Bleiler (Kevin), and a cherished Pop Pop to his
grandchildren Maureen Marra (Joe), Amy Ward, Thomas Ward, Allison Pachucki, and Elizabeth
Pachucki as well as great grandkids James and Josephine Marra - were the light of his life, and
he found endless joy in their laughter, achievements and stories, and a loving brother to Ronald and James Pachucki.
Edmund was a storyteller, a historian of his hometown, and a man who found beauty in
everyday moments. Whether cheering at his granddaughter’s games, hunting or fishing with his
son and brothers, or enjoying a cigar in the garage while talking shop, Edmund lived with
purpose and heart. He found joy in casino trips with his daughter in law and granddaughter, and
his presence was a source of comfort and wisdom to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine O’Day Pachucki,
brother, Eugene Pachucki, sister, Geraldine Kalanick, brother-in law, Elmer Kalanick, and
sister-in laws, Charlotte and Theresa Pachucki.
Edmund leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion. His spirit will live
on in the stories he told, the lives he touched, and the family he adored. He will be deeply
missed, but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10am from St. Elizabeth Church, 5700 Bear Creek Blvd.
Bear Creek Twp. PA 18702. Friends may call from 8:30am until the time of service.
