John P Pekarski Obituary

John P. Pekarski, beloved husband, devoted, father, proud grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2025 at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family.


Born on January 15, 1953 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, John lived a life grounded in family with a fondness for the outdoors. He worked as a carpenter most of his life. An avid Hunter and fisherman, John felt most at home in nature. He passed down his love for the outdoors to his children and grandchildren, teaching them how to track a deer and bait a hook.


John was the life of the party and a member of many social clubs including the Triangle Club, the Italian American Citizen Club, the Henry Club, the PAV, Owls Club and Paradise.


John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Pekarski.


John leaves behind his loving wife, Carolyn, of almost 52 years, his children, Michelle Kepping (Tom) of Mountain Top, Justin Pekarski of Dallas and five grandchildren, Kelcie and Jaxon Kepping and Blake, Bryson and Natalie Pekarski, a sister, Barbara Attardo of York, and many extended family and dear friends.


His presence, guidance and humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.


Friends and family are invited to a visitation to be held Monday, July 28, at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc,55 Stark Street, Plains, from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29, at 9:30 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Parish Bernadine Hall, located on Bank Street, Plains. A visitation at the church will be held from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Mass will be officiated by the Rev. John Lambert. Committal service will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plains
