Alice J. Majeski, 81, of Exeter, formerly of Edwardsville died peacefully July 27th at home surrounded by her daughter and son. She was the daughter of the late James & Alice Youngblood of Edwardsville. Alice was a highest honors graduate of Edwardsville High School,class of 1962, and also Head Majorette.
After graduation, Alice worked for Pioneer Mfg. ( Seltex Factors) and Leslie Fay in their offices. She worked at several different part-time jobs while the children were in school. She retired as an Administrative Assistant at the American Cancer Society. Not one to sit home after an early retirement, she worked three tax seasons at the local CPA office and then home schooled two children for four years.
She was a Reach to Recovery volunteer and a member of the NEPA Widows Group. Alice loved traveling to Las Vegas and shore points and especially liked cruising with friends and family members. She always enjoyed going to estate sales and garage sales. Alice always had a Siamese cat or two (maybe three) for pets.
Alice is survived by daughter Renee and husband Mike Miller of West Pittston, son Kevin of Wyoming and grandson Zackery Miller, brother James Youngblood & wife Debbie of Courtdale, brothers-in-law Carl Majeski & wife Louise & Jerome Majeski all of Plains Twp., several nieces & nephews & great-nieces & great nephews and her companion Edward Luzernski.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Raymond on August 11, 2014, whom she married on September 16, 1967, and her brother – in -law’s wife Bonnie Majeski.
A private service was held on Wednesday at Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum next to her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Ray. Alice will be sadly missed by family and friends.
