Gary later worked in sales and lastly at the Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his job there immensely.
Gary was a member of St. Elizabeth Church and its choir, and he also was a member of the Wilkes-Barre Coin Club. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his brother Thomas E. Walker and Hank Walker, High Point, NC, and his best friend and mentor Reverend Bill Grady, Archdale, NC.
Gary is survived by his wife, Susan, his brother-in-law, Richard Sawicki, Wilkes-Barre, and many wonderful friends, relatives, and neighbors in PA and NC.
