Thomas (Tom-Tom) Ambrose Benczkowski, 74, of the Hudson section of Plains Twp., passed peacefully at his home surrounded by wife, daughters & loving family.

Born in Plains Twp., on February 12, 1951, he was one of four children of the late Joseph and Michaeline Antosh Benczkowski. Tom grew up in the Plains area and graduated from the Plains Memorial High School, class of 1969.

Thomas was employed by the Mid-East Aluminum Industries for over thirty years where he worked as a die repairman. He happily retired in 2016.

Tom met Debbie Popovich in 1989 and they were married on October 5, 1990. Together, they built a life in Plains Township, raising their daughters, and joys of Tom’s life, Sarah and Michaela.

Anyone that knows Tom knew he was a die-hard Eagles fan. He also enjoyed visiting the Italian American Citizens Club where he once served as president, going fishing & gardening, his pool & tinkering, traveling with family and his best pal, his dog, Blitz. Nothing meant more to him than watching his daughters find love, happiness, and start their own families. He was one proud grandfather, and we will all miss him, but he will be at home in our hearts.

Thomas was preceded in death by his loving parents Joseph and Michaeline.

Surviving to cherish his life and memories are his wife Debbie, at home; daughters Sarah Pollick and her husband Eric, and grandson E.J.; Swoyersville; and Michaela Grundowski and her husband Thomas, and baby Grundowski on the way, Noxen; sisters Ann Gocek and her husband John, Plains; Michaeline Gustinucci and her husband Alan, Plains; brother James and his wife Helen, Mountaintop; with several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation to be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. A funeral service officiated by Deacon Donald Crane will be held at 7:30 p.m.
