Barbara Ann Oliveri, 82, of Plains Township, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.


Born in Hudson on February 28, 1944, Barbara was one of two daughters of the late Sheriff Frank Jagodinski and Josephine Serafin Jagodinski. She attended SS. Peter and Paul Elementary School and graduated from Plains Memorial High School in 1961.


Barbara was later employed in the Administration office at Plains Memorial High School. At that time, she met her future husband, Carmen Oliveri. Carmen and Barbara were happily married on October 16, 1964. For the past sixty-one years, the couple resided in Plains where they raised their two children, Tracey and Ryan.


Barbara created a warm and caring home for her family, filling it with fond memories, especially for her grandchildren who brought her immense joy. The love she gave her family was her greatest gift, and it will stay with them always. She was a devoted parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Plains and a member of the King's College Regina Club.


Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine, and her sister, Karen Werner.


Surviving are her loving husband, Carmen of Plains; daughter Tracey (Jeff) Dlugosh of Plains; son Ryan (Yan Yan) Oliveri of New York City; granddaughter Camryn Dlugosh of Plains; grandsons Collin Dlugosh of Plains and Ryan M. Oliveri of New York City. She is also survived by sister-in-law Sharon Dombrosky of Pittston, brother-in-law Benny (Marge) Oliveri of Binghamton, NY; nieces Kara Jo Oliveri of Binghamton, NY, Tara (Gerald III) Yamelski of Shavertown, Samantha (Anthony) Javier of Auburn Hill, MI, as well as extended family members.


Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until the start of Mass at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be officiated by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Plains.


Arrangements have been made with care by Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc, Plains. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Arthritis Foundation.
