Daniel (Al) P. Dombroski Obituary
Daniel ( AL) Dombroski, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, marking the end of his very courageous battle with cancer.
A lifelong resident of Plains, he graduated from the last class of the Plains Memorial High School in 1972. He then worked for various masonry restoration companies out of state, worked for a few years at Mideast Aluminum in Mountaintop until he decided to start a home remodeling company, Precision Work, as he always enjoyed working with his hands and fixing things. He retired from that work about ten years ago.
Daniel was preceded in death by his wonderful parents, the late Anthony and Agnes Kalemba Dombroski, and many aunts, uncles as well as close friends.
Surviving to cherish his life and many memories are his wife of 42 years, Carol Dombroski; brother Anthony Dombroski and his wife Doris; nephew David and his wife Mallory. Plus, so many friends from over the years- be in from the IACC in Hudson, How Kola Campground, fishing and hunting clubs, people he met thru work, high school, etc. So many of you are more than just friends- over time have become “our extended family.” So, as per Daniel, “Al’s” request he’s being cremated and there will be no type of service or memorial. Instead, he requested a celebration of life well lived. and lived a little too good at times- to be announced in the near future. Funny stories – pictures, memories will be welcomed for that, and he insisted that it is on him—his treat for everyone he loved to enjoy.
Lastly, we want to thank the great doctors at Penn Medicine in Philly for giving him a pretty good quality of life during his treatments there, Geisinger Oncology at the Henry Cancer Center, Geisinger at Home for their palliative care. Finally, Commonwealth Hospice for their comfort and compassionate care given toward the end.
If anyone wants to make a memorial donation in Daniel’s honor, please make it to Hope Lodge in Cheltenham, 110 W Laurel Ave, Cheltenham, PA ,19012. This is a wonderful place for cancer patients to stay while receiving care at any of the local Philadelphia Hospitals and it’s free of charge for patients and their caregivers and they rely mostly on donations.
