Jacqueline B. Perzia Obituary
Together in heaven. Jacqueline B. Perzia, affectionately known as Jackie, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. At the age of 83, Jackie passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Allied Hospice in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, where she was under their compassionate care.
Jackie was born to her late parents, Theodore and Johanna (Niedjaco) Barber. She was born in Luzerne and spent her entire life on the Westside and was a proud graduate of Luzerne High School. Jackie was also an active member of St. Anthony’s Church in Exeter, where she found community and friendship.
Throughout her life, Jackie worked for United Pants and the Voodoo Lounge. She also dedicated much of her time caring for family and friends, serving as a caregiver with kindness and generosity.
Jackie found joy in playing bingo and spending time on her computer. One of her greatest pleasures was preparing Sunday dinners for her family, cherishing the moments spent together. Though she will be deeply missed, her presence remains forever in the hearts of her loved ones.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Johanna; her husband, Philip J. Perzia Sr.; her son, Philip J. Perzia Jr.; brothers Theodore (Teddy) Barber, Thomas (Tom) Barber, and Richard Barber; and sisters Stella Broadt and Lillian Perrego.
She is survived by her daughter Leona Burnetski and husband Rick of Wilkes-Barre; son Anthony (Tony) Perzia of Luzerne; grandchildren Erik Burnetski of Wilkes-Barre and Nicole Burnetski of Berwick; great-grandson Josh Vanchure of Berwick; sister Leona Ryan, Ohio, Marie Emel, Kingston, and Cleta Amos, Edwardsville; nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Gabby and Bently.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to her neighbor, caregiver and friend, Cindy Gebhardt, as well as the nurses at Allied Service Hospice for their care and support.
Services for Jacqueline will be held privately by her family. Arrangements are in the caring hands of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. in Plains Township.
