Mary Ann D. Jones, 78, of Plains, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Mary Ann was born on May 30, 1947, in Wilkes-Barre to Edward and Josephine Kalinowski and was a lifelong resident of Plains. She was a 1965 graduate from Plains High School and went on to work in retail management for many years, where she was known for her dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic.

Family meant everything to Mary Ann. She and her husband, Jenkin, shared 58 loving years together and raised their son with incredible pride and devotion. Mary Ann had a way of instantly making people feel welcome — often with her infectious giggle and warm smile. Her kindness was genuine, her laughter unforgettable, and her presence comforting to those who knew her.

She loved to travel near and far, always eager for a new adventure or a simple moment that brought joy — especially if it meant time spent with family.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Jenkin Jones; her son, David Brian Jones, and his wife, Rachael, of Phoenixville; her sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and John Bestider of Plains; her

brothers, David Kalinowski of Croydon, and Robert Kalinowski and his wife, Joann, of Bear Creek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Edward Kalinowski, her maternal grandparents, Alexandria and Anthony Wallace, and her paternal grandparents, Frances and

Stanley Kalinowski.

A memorial service will be held at Yanaitis Funeral Home in Plains, PA, on Friday, May 15, 2026, beginning at 10 am. The burial service will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery mausoleum chapel in

Hanover Township, PA, where a prayer service will be conducted for all in attendance prior to entombment.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA.
