Edward P. Dalbo Obituary
Edward Paul Dalbo, 74, of Laflin, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at his residence with his wife by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Scranton on September 16, 1951, he was the son of Edward and Stella Kania Dalbo. He was raised in Moosic and graduated from South Scranton Catholic High School. Following graduation, Edward enlisted in the United States Army Reserves, serving with the 1st Battalion, 109th Field Artillery Regiment, where he attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class before his honorable discharge. He completed coursework in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services at the University of Scranton.
Edward was employed with Spotless Cleaners of Dunmore in sales for three decades. Upon retirement, he served as a driver for Aveanna Healthcare.
He had a passion for music and was a lead guitarist with numerous bands, including Passage, Moriah, and Eddie Whiplash playing at many local venues throughout his life. During his performances, he met Renee McPhail, whom he later married on June 6, 1992. The couple resided in Plains before moving to Laflin and raised their children, Derek and Olivia. He coached his son's Moosic Little League team and enjoyed playing video games with both his children. Edward was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church and the Polish American Veteran Club, Plains.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Stella. Surviving are his wife Renee; son Derek; daughter Olivia; sister Mary Ann Boccagno (Phillip); brother Paul Dalbo (Linda); nieces and nephews Michael, Lauren, and Julia Boccagno; Brian and Nicole Dalbo, Thomas Svab; and his pet cat Lizzie.
The family extends gratitude to Dr. Bruce Saidman and staff for their dedication during the past eighteen months, and to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for providing compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, and on Friday, May 22, from 9:00 a.m. until the beginning of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be officiated by Rev. John C. Lambert. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
