Teresa Dunaj, 78, of Mountain Top, passed away at her residence on Friday, June 20, 2026.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 10, 1948, she was one of four children born to the late Stanley and Barbara (Corcoran) Malys.

Teresa was known for her warm heart, kindness, and sociable nature. She was an active member of the Nippers Club, a close-knit group of retired coworkers who shared many years of friendship. She enjoyed watching her grandson play hockey, watching The Curse of Oak Island with her son, Scott, tending to her flowers, and sharing time with her cherished friends. Teresa was also a loving godmother to Kimberly Malys. Above all, she loved being with her family. She was known for her deep wisdom, thoughtful advice, wonderful sense of humor, and unwavering support of those she loved.

Teresa will be remembered as a devoted mother and cherished mother-in-law. She was a loving grandmother who adored her only grandchild, Jones Dunaj. For the past eighteen years, she treasured every moment spent with him. He was the light of her life, and her love for him was endless- “to the moon and back.”

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband of thirty-one years, Walter Dunaj, and her brother, Kenneth Malys.

She is survived by her son, Scott Dunaj, and his wife, Susan, of Mountain Top; her grandson, Jones Dunaj, of Mountain Top; her brothers, Patrick Malys and his wife, Donna, of Plains, and Dan Malys and his wife, Bonnie, of Coatesville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Teresa’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held for immediate family. The family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support of relatives and friends during this difficult time.
