Obituary of Donna Marie Keil

Donna Marie Keil, 56, of the Hudson section of Plains Twp., passed on March 26, 2016, while in the care of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born on February 7, 1960, she was a daughter to Irene Ciechoski Keil and the late Jack Keil. Growing up in the Plains area, she attended local schools and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin, class of 1979. Donna returned home to aid in caring for her family for many years. She loved working in the yard, helping with housework and decorating the home for every holiday. She enjoyed caring for her animals of every kind over the years, especially her dogs and cats. She was a hard worker helping her brother Arthur with home projects. She had her own way of doing things. She was simple, funny and charitable always lending a helping hand. She liked when friends stopped by to visit when out for a walk with their furry friends. She was a past member of St. Joseph Church, Hudson, until the parish closure. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Stanley and Catherine Ciechoski, and George and Catherine Keil; father Jack Keil; nephew Andrew Keil; and several aunts and uncles. Surviving are her mother Irene, at home; sisters Sharon Ebert and husband David, Mountaintop; Kathie Miles and her husband Ric, Hudson; brothers John , Hudson; Arthur and his wife Theresa, Plains; Thomas, Hazelton; nephews Matthew Keil and Bryce Ebert; niece Jacqulyn Miles; and her cat Brownie. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 9:00 am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.,55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 am in Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Hudson Road, Plains. Rev. Jack Lambert will be officiant. Interment will follow at Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton. Friends and family may pay their respects to the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. A special thank you to the staff of the Wilkes Barre General CCU Unit for the exceptional care they gave to Donna in her last days.
