Obituary of Josephine M. Macaravage

Josephine M. Macaravage, 81, of Jenkins Twp, passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, while in the care of the Partridge-Tippett Nursing Facility at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township. Josephine was born in Wilkes-Barre on June 28, 1934. She was a daughter to the late Joseph and Rose Belch Snarski. She resided in the Plains area and was a graduate of both the Plains Memorial High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. Josephine worked as a bookkeeper for the Lispi Brothers Company, and the R.B Wall Company. For many years she was active with her husband Joseph Macaravage in the Brooks Estates Residence Association and the FS8611 Army Reunions. Joseph died on November 20, 2008, and that year they had celebrated 50 years of marriage together. Josephine was a parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph, and daughter Diane. Josephine is survived by her son Mark, Randolph, NJ; sister Rosalie Jesikiewicz, Plains, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Josephine will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 9:30 am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc, 55 Stark Street, Plains. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Hudson Road. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Jack Lambert. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Plains.
