Obituary of Helen Bartosiewicz

Helen Bartosiewicz, 87, of the Miners-Mill section of Wilkes-Barre passed on Sunday, August 21, 2016, while in the care of the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. Helen was born in Wilkes-Barre on October 12,1928, to her loving parents Peter Korman and Mary Bednarczyk Korman. She was one of seven children. She grew up in Wilkes-Barre and attended the local school. At a young age she started to work in the local garment industry as a seamstress. During this time she married Anthony Bartosiewicz,and together they raised their family until Anthony’s sudden passing on January 16, 1957. Helen enjoyed her family and her life. She filled her time crocheting, playing the lottery, but most of all spending it with her children and grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Anthony; sisters Mary and Darlene; brothers Peter and Frank. Surviving are her daughter Jennie Hawk and her husband Dominick, Swoyersville; son Anthony and his wife Karen, Harding; brothers Charles and his wife Francine, Plains Twp; and Bernie, Kingston; grandchildren Dominick Jr, Swoyersville; Anthony, Buffalo, NY; Jesse, Harding; and Kayla, Harding; great grandchildren Noah, Swoyersville; and Jadyn ,Harding; and nieces and nephews. Funeral Service for Helen will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. , Plains, Twp.
