Obituary of Dolores Amelia Pawloski

Dolores Amelia Pawloski, 86, of Plains Township , passed unexpectedly at her private residence on Wednesday, September 28,2016. Born on November 5, 1929, she was a daughter to Anthony and Emilia Benkoski. At the age of three, Dolores and her siblings lost both of their parents. Dolores was raised in Plymouth by her sisters and she attended local Plymouth schools. At a young age, she married John Pawloski on April 22, 1950. Together they raised six children and shared sixty three years of marriage until John passed on August 22, 2013. John and Dolores could always be found at the Exeter flea market as a long time vendor. This was their special place where they made numerous friends and great memories. Dolores was employed by the Wilkes-Barre School District in housekeeping. She worked with the district for several years until her retirement. During her golden years, Dolores would spend her time with her grandchildren helping to raise them. Dolores was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul’s Parish, Plains and the Polish Club, Plains. She was preceded in death by her son John” Jack”; sisters Helen; Mary; Leona; and Victoria; brothers Tony and John; granddaughter Valerie Pawloski, and grandson John Pawloski. Dolores is survived by her son, Robert Pawloski and his companion, Florence Olerta, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Debra Serbin and her husband, Bernard, Exeter; daughter, Jo-Ann Oney, Wyoming; daughter, Carol Frey and her husband, Ernest, Plymouth; son, James Pawloski and his wife Rebecca, Plains Township; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to Theresa, mom’s neighbor and friend, for being there to help Dolores in her time of need and for the many years of friendship. A gathering for those who wish to celebrate Dolores’s life will be held on Sunday, October 2, at 1:00pm in her daughter Debra’s home, 17 West Packer Avenue, Exeter, Pa, 18643. Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains.
