Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janice Elizabeth Vinciarelli, 90, of Keystone, passed peacefully into her Savior’s Kingdom on Thursday, August 12, 2021, while in the care of the Gardens at East Mountain for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born in Wakefield, Massachusetts, on March 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Evelyn Burt Brown. Janice was an only child and her parents raised her in Melrose, Massachusetts. She attended local schools and began working for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority in the Boston Station. On February 11, 1950, Janice married her love Elwood A. Vinciarelli. The new couple followed Elwood to Lebanon, Pa, and then settled in the Keystone section of Plains for the rest of their lives. The couple raised two daughters, Donna and Carol. During this time Janice went to work at the local dress factories as a seamstress for several years but eventually decided to stay at home to raise her family. Janice excelled at many skills of sewing, canning, and learning to cook. Some would say she could cook Italian food better than most Italians. As she raised her family, Janice had a deep faith in her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member of the Valley Alliance Church, West Pittston. Ultimately at this time, a thank you to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the shedding of His blood which paid the price for Janice to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven and a thank you to Pastors Edward O’Mara, Shane Nichols, and Tim Williams, who shepherd Janice while she was here with us. Janice was preceded into the kingdom by her loving parents and her husband of forty years, Elwood, who died on January, 26, 1990. Surviving are her daughters Mrs. Donna Strelecki and her husband Sal, Pittston, and Carol Harchar, Keystone, grandchildren Emily Harchar, Wilkes-Barre, Allison Strelecki, Kingston, and Brandon Strelecki, Pittston. Janice’s funeral service will be held Tuesday 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Services will be led by Pastor Shane Nichols of the Valley Alliance Church.
