Obituary of Margaret Hannah Sluzar Rokosz
Margaret Sluzar Rokosz died Friday, April 13, 2018, at The Gardens at East Mountain, Plains Township.
Born in Bear Creek on May 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Honor and Russell Olson.
Throughout her life Margaret held a variety of jobs, her most important being raising her children, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Philip Sluzar in 1984 and husband Leo Rokosz in 1999, sisters Elsie Burry and Della Bednarczyk, and brother Martin Olson.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Phyllis Gianuzzi and husband Philip, son Phillip Sluzar and wife Debra, grandchildren Lea Anstett and husband Robert, Lara Gianuzzi, Philip Gianuzzi and wife Sarah; great-grandchildren Robert, Joshua, and Matthew Anstett. She is also survived by sisters Honor Christianson and husband Tom, Nancy Mantush and husband Donald, brothers Russell Olson and wife Linda, William Olson and David Olson, sister-in-law Helen Riccio; and many generations of loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Alzheimer’s Unit at The Gardens at East Mountain for the excellent and compassionate care she received.
The Funeral service will be at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Hudson Rd, Plains, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16th. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Margaret’s Memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY, 10001, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
