Obituary of Theresa Letinski

Theresa Letinski, 80, formerly of Plains, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014, at Riverside Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Hudson, Theresa was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Prescavage) Synoracki. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph's Elementary School and Plains High School. In 1954 she completed training at the Woodrow Wilson Technical School (now the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center) in Fishersville, Virginia. In 1955 she was employed by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where she worked in various departments for 31 years as a medical secretary. In February of 1971 she was awarded a Citation for Meritorious Service from the President's Committee on employment of the handicapped in appreciation of her contribution in furthering the employment of the handicapped. In the same year she was named General Hospital's Handicapped Employee of the Year. Theresa was a role model for the physically challenged and never let her disability get in the way of living a full life. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and her sunny disposition.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Stanley and her brother William who died on February 27, 2014. She is survived by her aunt, Rosalie Prescavage, Hudson, her brother's wife, Marie Synoracki, Corona, New York and several cousins, grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this Friday at 9:30 AM in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Friends may pay their respects between 8:30 and 9:30 at the church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains.
