Constance Szustak, 91, a resident of Highland Park Senior Living, Wilkes-Barre, and formerly of Plains Township, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021. Connie was born September 22, 1929, to the late Joseph and Anna Kropiewnicki (Gayewski). She was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Wyoming Seminary Business School, and was a lifelong parishioner at S.S. Peter and Paul Church in Plains. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Szustak, brother George Kropiewnicki, daughter-in-law Donna Szustak, infant granddaughters Emily Szustak and Erin McGrady. Connie is survived by her children, Dr. Joseph J. Szustak, his wife Louise, Daughter Karen Bedrin, and husband, Atty. Michael Bedrin, daughter Kathy McGrady. Brothers; Joseph, Robert (Margaret), and sister Maryann Kropiewnicki. Grandchildren; Michael Szustak, Jillian Robostello (Joe), Courtney Gabriel (Chris), Dr. Michael Bedrin (Dr. Kate), Alex Bedrin (Gloria), Ryan McGrady, Megan McGrady, Michael McGrady (Colleen), Andrew McGrady (Faith). Great grandchildren; Evalyn, Layla, and Teddy Robostello. Numerous nieces and nephews. Connie was a talented seamstress and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU). She retired from Leslie Fay and later worked for many years at Macy's department store. Private funeral arrangements were at the family's convenience. The family would like to thank her exceptional caregivers at Highland Park, especially Tanya, Teri, and staff with Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kindness and compassionate care. Memorial contributions can be made to S.S. Peter and Paul Church.
