Obituary of Charles Aloysius Kenzakoski Sr.

Charles A. Kenzakoski Sr. 80, of Bear Creek Township, passed on Monday, April 19,2021, while in the care of the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born on June 21, 1940, in Bear Creek Twp., he was a son to the late Joseph and Stella Wawruch Kenzakoski. Charles grew up in Bear Creek and attended local school. He was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1958. Charles worked with his brothers in the family construction business, Kenzakoski Brothers Construction Company. He enjoyed running the heavy equipment and was a lifelong excavator operator. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Charles true passion was flying. He was a licensed pilot and was the past president of the Wyoming Valley Pilots Club Inc. He enjoyed working on diesel engine conversions and was also a lifelong member of the N.R.A. He loved to spend his time with his wife of sixty years, Kathleen, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at family annual pig roasts and many other family functions throughout the year. We will all miss him. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Stella, brothers Richard Kenzakoski Sr. and Joseph Kenzakoski. Surviving is his wife Kathleen, Bear Creek; daughter Theresa L. Miller (Gerald), Bear Creek, sons Daniel (Dawn), Charles Jr. (Pauline), Thomas (Rebecca), Eric (Leona), all of Bear Creek; sisters Denise Olsen (Willy), Westminster, Diane Sott (Pete), Westminster, brothers Edward, Bear Creek, Robert( Joann), Westminster; grandchildren Michael Miller (Susan), Stephanie Landmesser (Bryan), Charles III, Mark, Joseph, Maria McCabe, Amanda Loves, Cara Martin, Elizabeth Serafin, D.J., Luke, Matthew, Alex, Jacob, Victor, Elaine; great grandchildren Caitlyn, Allyson, Molly, Nick, Brayden, Gregory, Able, Juliet, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held privately at the request of his family. Arrangements were undertaken by the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains Twp.
