Ronald J. Klem, 71, of Plains Township, passed peacefully, Saturday, May 29,2021, in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Plains Township on September 25, 1949, He was a son to the late Edward A. and Helen M. Levitski Klem. Ronald grew up in Hudson and attended St. Joseph Catholic School. He was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, class of 1967. He continued his higher education at the Wilkes-Barre Area Computer School and Kings College. On February 7, 1970, Ronald married his high school sweetheart and lifelong love, Emily DeAngelis. The couple resided in Plains Township and raised their two daughters: Robin and Renee. The couple recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2020. During this time Ronald was employed right out of high school working at Active Quilting. He later worked as a bus driver for Martz Trailways for several years. Ronald then went to work for CertainTeed Building Materials and worked thirty-four years for the company. He retired with the position of Hot End Manager of the production plant. Ronald was a current member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish of Plains. He was a social member of many of the local clubs in Plains Township over the years. He was a long-time social member of the Polish American Veterans Club (PAV). He enjoyed participating in numerous dart leagues. He was also an avid golfer. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his forever “Dollbaby” Allyson. Ronald was proceeded in death by his loving parents Edward and Helen, and his brother David. Surviving are his loving wife Emily, Plains; daughters Robin Klem and her wife Jennifer, Hudson; Renee Laiuvara and her husband Ralph, Hudson; granddaughter and Ronald’s “Dollbaby” Allyson Laiuvara, Hudson; brother Edward Klem and his wife Margaret, Plains; sisters Pamela Wilde and her husband David; Patricia Balla and her husband Stephen; sister-in-law Sandie DeAngelis, Plains, and several nieces and nephews. Ronald’s Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 4,2021, from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Service will be officiated and celebrated by Rev. John Lambert, pastor. Mass will be live streamed on the church’s Facebook page and Funeral home’s page. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 3, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ronald’s memory can be sent to the Saints Peter and Paul Parish Food Pantry, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, Pa, 18705 or to the Blue Chip Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Rd, Dallas, PA 18612.
