Dear Mom,
I made it home safely tonight.
Please don't worry about us. You and Dad saw to it that all seven of us were equipped with the necessary tools and pointed in the right direction to venture forth on our own. You fed us, clothed us, bathed us, washed countless loads of laundry, put up with years of sibling battles and overflowing washers; you stitched us up when we were injured, toted us around the country in a station wagon visiting historical sites and fostering in us an appreciation of nature, and made sure we were educated.
Make no mistake, though, we will miss you. You made holidays and birthdays special, and no matter what turmoil we were experiencing in our own hectic lives, we could always count on coming "home" and getting love from our mother. Although we have said it thousands of times over the years, "I Love You Mom", I think you know it now.
I will continue to try hard to live the way you and Dad taught, maybe even harder now. And I hope I can be as good of a parent to my children as you have been to us.
And I will try to make tea as good as you, but it is missing one ingredient... motherly love!
