Please share a memory of Professor Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Professor Patricia Marlene Reavy, 80, passed into her eternal life on Sunday, Oct. 31,2021, at the Partridge-Tippett Nursing Facility’s Wesley Village Campus, Pittston. Born in Asbury Park, N.J., on Feb. 10, 1941, Patricia was one of three children of the late Anthony and Anita Wilk Sarcomo. She rose from humble beginnings and pursued her ambitions in business studies. She graduated from Wilkes University with a B.S. in Business and later attained her M.B.A. from the University of Scranton. She remained at the University of Scranton for two years, serving as a lecturer in Business Administration. In 1982, Patricia married her love, George P. Reavy. The newly wedded couple followed George’s work to Florida where she helped him to run his financial consulting business. Patricia continued her education at Southwestern University where she earned a doctorate in Business Administration. While in Florida, Patricia's faith guided her to many callings. She became vice president of the Orlando Christian Women's Association, where she ran the office to help protect the lives of Haitian women and their babies. She provided a safe haven for women and children and saved countless lives with her compassion, intellect, and helped provide mothers with options to abortion. With her husband’s business growing internationally, Patricia and George were able to travel all over the world. She wasn’t sure she would like traveling at first, but she soon grew to love it. Over the years the couple travelled to more than 110 different countries. Patricia enjoyed seeing Europe, the Far East, Iceland, England, Ireland and many other countries. She and her husband touched every continent except Antarctica throughout their lives. After spending 35 years in Florida, the couple returned to the Wyoming Valley where Patricia was very active in Saint Maria Goretti Parish, Laflin. She became a parish Eucharistic Minister and, after completing her spiritual studies, a Deacon. She was very active in the church community and enjoyed participating in the church’s plays. Patricia was preceded in death by her loving parents, as well as her brothers Ronald and Robert Sarcomo. Surviving in addition to her loving husband of almost 40 years are five stepchildren, eight grandchildren and four great grandsons, as well as her sister-in-law, Marcella Sarcomo, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Professor Reavy will be held this Thursday, Nov. 4,2021, at 10:30 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains.
