Marion R. Malacheski, of Wilkes-Barre, passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord, surrounded by her loving family at her home, on Wednesday, December 1,2021. Born in Wilkes-Barre on December 9,1929, she was a daughter to the late William and Ann Steba Mitchell. Marion grew up in Wilkes-Barre and attended local schools. She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1947.She then worked for several years in the local garment industry until she began working for R.C.A. of Mountain Top. Together they raised three children: Mark, Robert, and Karen. They went on many family trips to the sea shores: Ocean City: Wildwood and Cape May ; trips to Canada; and cruises. Marion enjoyed cooking for her family, especially on Saturdays in the fall, when the family would gather to watch their favorite football team, Penn State. Marion and her husband Frank were die hard fans. They went to many games even when they made it to the Rose Bowl in California. Marion and her family were raised in the Catholic faith and were members of St. Benedict’s Parish, Parsons, and the parish community of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Plains.   Marion enjoyed watching game shows on television, especially Wheel of Fortune, and she loved doing all the puzzles in the newspaper every morning at the kitchen table. Overall, Marion loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her siblings. She was an amazing woman who truly loved life and everyone that she came in contact with.
