Obituary of Madeline A. Lepore

Madeline A. Lepore, 87, of Plains Township, passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2014, in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains. Madeline was born on March 31,1926, in West Pittston. She was a daughter to the late Afreddo and Rosaria Cerza Cavello. She attended local schools in West Pittston. She married the love of her life, Charles A. Lepore. Together they started a family in the Plains area and Madeline was a dedicated mother and homemaker to her husband and three children. She was a former member of the Sacred Heart church, Plains, until its closure. She is a current member of the Ss. Peter and Paul church, Plains. Madeline's greatest pleasure was spending time and being a caregiver to her family. She enjoyed cooking especially her Easter pizza, she loved to do puzzles, reading books, going to the local casino, watching her soaps and game shows on television. Mrs. Lepore is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sisters Rose Testa; Bessie Harstad; brothers Albert Cavella, Dominic, and Joseph Cavello. Madeline is survived by her son Charles M., with whom she resided with, Plains; daughters Rosanne Charnetski and her husband Paul, Bear Creek; Luanne Hunsinger, Shickshinny; sister Margaret Kudrako, Michigan; grandchildren Theresa Charnetski; Charles Hunsinger and his wife Angela; and James Hunsinger and his wife Kim, who are expecting Madeline's first great grandchild in July. The family would like to extend a thank you to the medical staff at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley for their efforts, compassion, and care Madeline received prior to her passing. Mrs. Lepore's funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28,2014, at 9:00am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. 55 Stark Street, Plains. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart cemetery, Plains. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
