Obituary of Caroline Rose Guzenski

Caroline Rose Guzenski, 92, of Pittston, passed on Tuesday, March 1,2022, while in the care of The Gardens at East Mountain, Plains Township.
Born in Scranton on May 8,1929, she was the only daughter of the late Charles and Thelma Sweet Mendola. Caroline was raised in Pittston and was a graduate of the Pittston High School, class of 1946.
She was a lifelong seamstress that worked at various dress factories in the area. She was also a member of the I.L.G.W.U.
On April 10,1950, Caroline married Joseph A. Guzenski. Together they moved to the Miners-Mills area to raise their three sons: Joseph, Albert, and Anthony. Caroline enjoyed cooking and baking Italian cookies for every occasion. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a devout catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Church, Hudson, and its Christian Mothers group until the church’s closure. She was a current member of the Parish Community of Saints Peter and Paul Plains.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph, son Albert, and her brothers Woody and Sam Mendola.
Surviving are her sons Joseph, Pittston; Anthony (Bonnie), Binghamton, NY; grandchildren Bert Guzenski (Daniel), Keli Williams (Chris); Jennifer Coffey (Steven); Derek Guzenski (Lauren) ; and Christy Guzenski; great grandchildren Jake, Luke, Caroline, Ryan, Savannah, Harrison, Keegan, Graysen, Kadance Caroline, and Gabrielle; also nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend Caroline’s Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Monday, March 7,2022, at 10:00 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Mass will be officiated by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hudson.
