Carol Lee Casterline Obituary

Carol Lee Casterline, 77, of Sugar Notch, passed unexpectedly on Monday, May 2, 2022, while in the comfort of her home.


Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 4, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Carl A. and Marjorie Savino Casterline Sr. Carol grew up in the Heights section of the city and attended local elementary school and James M. Coughlin High School.


At the age of seventeen, she worked as a seamstress for Allen Manufacturing on Hazel Street until the late 1970’s. She then took on the job of a school bus driver for the Parrish Bus Company of Pittston. Carol enjoyed driving the children everyday and they nicknamed her “Gramma Carol”. She built many close relationships with the children she drove over the years, since for some, she drove them from preschool to high school in the Pittston School District. She was sad to retire, but she kept in touch with some of the children as the became young adults.


Carol had a deep faith in her Lord and Savior and was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church in Laurel Run.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Marjorie, and her sister Marjorie.


Surviving Carol is her son Bernard M. Masloski and his wife Denise, Leesburg, FL; grandchildren; great grandchildren, brothers; sister; nieces and nephews.


Services for Carol will be held privately at the convenience of her family.


Arrangements are in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Hudson.
