Mary Madelyn Pilwallis, 84, of the Hudson section of Plains Township, passed on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, while in the comforting care of the Sacred Heart Hospice, Dunmore. Born in West Pittston on June 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Eva Shacochis Abromavage. Mary was a very talented artist. She is best known for her hand made dolls that she crafted over her lifetime. Many of which were sold at her home, local craft events and at College Misericordia. Mary also sewed many outfits for her dolls and she created many replicas wooden houses of family and friends’. She was a past member of St. Francis Church, Miners-Mills, until the church’s closure. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Robert and John. Surviving is her husband Joseph, who was by her side for the last fifty-nine years, sons Joseph and his wife Cindy, Summerville, SC; Mark and his wife Jennifer, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Mason, Alex, Charlene, and Samuel; and her brother Martin Abromavage, Shavertown, nieces and nephews. Services were held privately at the convenience of her family. Arrangements were placed in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains Twp.
