Please share a memory of Joann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joann E. Simonson, 75, of Plains Township, has succumbed to her illness this past Monday, July 18, 2022, after fighting a very courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her family under the care of hospice at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. Born in Kingston on July 4, 1947, she was the oldest of three children of the late Raymond and Josephine "Dolly" Stair. Graduated from Kingston Area High School, class of 1965. Met her beloved husband Ronald Simonson at the San Souci Dance Hall and danced their way to marriage on June 3, 1967. The happy couple made their home in Plains Township where they raised their two children: Kimberly and Keith. Joann loved enjoying time with family and friends visiting casinos, beaches , boardwalk’s, and pools. Deeply missed by her sidekick “Snoopy Dog”. This last year has been especially hard for Joann, but she was a fighter to the very end. Our hearts have been broken and we will miss our loving mother, wife, grandmother, and dearest friend. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Raymond and Dolly, and brother Raymond. Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Ronald, Plains Twp.; daughter Kimberly and her fiancé Gene Keithline, Dallas; son Keith and his wife Jodie, Shickshinny; grandsons Nathaniel and his wife Caitlin, Auston, and Dylan; brother John Stair and his wife Wendy, Florida; nieces and nephews.
