Barbara Mondulick, 79, of Bear Creek, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and while in the comforting care of Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on April 28, 1943, she was one of six daughters of the late Stanley and Agnes Timek Libertoski.

Barbara grew up in Parsons and attended St. Joseph Elementary School, Hudson, and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1961.

She was employed by Bear Creek Nursing Home and Valley Crest Nursing Home for over thirty-five years where she worked as a nurse’s aide. After retirement, she worked part-time at the Bear Creek Charter School until her sickness prevented her from working.

Her favorite time of the year was the 4th of July where she spent the holiday with her children and grandchildren watching the fireworks at Mountain Lake.

Barbara married George J. Mondulick and together they raised their five children: George, Gary, Jeffrey, Jennifer and Mark.

Barbara loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and also visiting the casinos with her friend, Ray.

Barbara was a devout catholic and was a current member of the Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Plains.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Stanley and Agnes; husband George; and son Gary.

Surviving are her children George Jr. (Marlena), Plains; Jeffrey (Billie Jo), Bear Creek; Jennifer Washney, Nanticoke; and Mark (Tiffany) Bear Creek; grandchildren Kaitlyn; Julianna; Stacey; Noelle; Phylicia; Eddie; Jeffrey; Ava; and Remy; great-grandchildren Allison and Emilia; sisters Loretta; Agnes; Evelyn; Irene (Reenie); and Christine (Teena); and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains.

Funeral Service will begin Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. The Rev. John Lambert, pastor, will be the celebrant of the service. Interment will follow with the rite of committal in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek.
