Mary Rodak Suchocki of Miners Mills passed peacefully on Wednesday at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, with her daughters by her side. She was the daughter of John and Verna Bozinski Rodak. Mary attended James M. Coughlin High School. She married Edmund Suchocki on February 19,1955, and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years together.

Mary was a lifetime resident of Miners Mills where she focused her life on her family. She was an accomplished, self-taught seamstress and excellent cook. A member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, she spent many volunteer hours helping in the school cafeteria.

After retirement, Mary and Edmund enjoyed their weekly drives to the White Birch Golf Course and Hometown Market. They traveled all around the country, but their favorite destination was Disney World. Sadly, Edmund passed away in 2019.

Mary spent her final years enjoying her days with her daughter, Susan Suchocki, playing bingo at the Kingston Active Adult Center, visiting with family, relaxing on her porch and stopping by one of the many ice cream shops in the area.

This past June, Mary was presented with her long deserved high school diploma by Principal Watkins of the Wilkes-Barre Area High School.

Mary will be sadly missed by her daughters Susan Suchocki, Marie Suchocki Brennan and husband David Brennan, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Suchocki will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Rev. John Lambert, pastor, will officiate the Mass. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Friends and family are invited to Mary’s visitation to by held Friday evening from 5:00p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
