Please share a memory of Rosalie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosalie Quarteroni Epstein of Kingston passed away peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2022, at home with her niece, Maria, by her side after a battle with heart disease. Born February 27, 1941, in Kingston, Rosalie was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Leona Kovalik Quarteroni. She grew up in Luzerne, where her family owned and operated a well-known sporting goods store, Quarteroni Brothers. Rosalie was in the first graduating class (1958) of the former West Side Central Catholic High School, Kingston, and furthered her education at the Comptometer School of Business in Scranton. Rosalie left the area in 1963 to work for American Standard, Piscataway, NJ, where she moved quickly up the ranks. In 1976, she was hired by Conair Corp., Edison, NJ, to be the Manager of Cooperative Advertising and Special Promotions, which also included managing the company’s entire rebate program and large accounts such as Walmart, Kmart, Macy’s and Costco. Rosalie met the love of her life, Myron Epstein, a Manhattan attorney with his own law practice, Epstein and Epstein, in her later years. Shortly after they got married, they moved to Boynton Beach, FL, where Rosalie lived for 32 years before moving back to Kingston. Rosalie was very cultured, as she traveled to Spain, Italy, Canada and many states in the US, including Hawaii. While in Italy, she arranged to meet her paternal grandmother’s relatives who live in Pistoia and has kept in touch with them over the years. Rosalie also had diverse interests. She was an avid golfer for many years as well as a strong bridge player. She also had a flair for fashion and interior design and loved decorating her home. While at home, she loved to cook gourmet meals, dote on her cat, Lola, and play solitaire, the latter of which she viewed as a way to keep her mind sharp. She also enjoyed watching tango dancing, classic TV and popular game shows like Jeopardy. In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; brother, Rudy Quarteroni, Jr; sister, Janice Quarteroni Miller; and nephew, Randy Quarteroni. Rosalie is survived by her niece, Maria Cicero, New York City, whom she loved dearly and regarded as the daughter she never had. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 AM Saturday, November 26, in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, North Maple St., Kingston, with the Reverend Shawn M. Simchock as celebrant. There will be a private entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Memorial contributions in Rosalie’s name may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 340 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, PA, 18057.
