James C. Kaskiel, 63 of Dallas, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, after a brief illness.
Born on December 1, 1958, he was a son to the late Walter and Rose Kaskiel, Plains. Jim was a 1976 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and a 1980 graduate of King's College where he majored in criminal law and a minor in psychology. He recently retired after 42 years of service as a nuclear security shift commander for the former PPL and now Talen Energy, Berwick. He enjoyed all his years of service and the many friendships made with his work team.
He was a member of Newell Rod and Gun Club and Wildcat, Lopez, where he enjoyed hunting and being outdoors with his sons at the cabin. James spent time traveling, enjoyed gardening and lawn work, but most of all, he enjoyed the best moments with his grandchildren. Throughout his life, James was an active member in several catholic church parishes in the valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Rose Kaskiel.
James is survived by his sons James B. and his wife Christine, Dallas; Ryan and his wife Nicki, Scranton; grandchildren Callie, Ella, and Maddox; sister Sandra Browning, Plains; and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for James will be held Monday, November 21,at 9:45 A.M. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. in St. Francis X. Cabrini Church, 585 Mount Olivet Road, Wyoming, Pa, 18644. Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. James Paisley. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. Visitation will be held Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
