Obituary of Robert W. Roberts

Robert W. Roberts, 74, of Ashley, passed on Sunday, December 13, 2015, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after being stricken ill at home. Born in Hanover Township, he was the son to the late Albert and Helen (Mrugowski) Roberts. He attended Hanover Area schools. He married the love of his life, the former Barbara Kwasnik, on July 21, 1966. Together they celebrated forty nine years of marriage and raised three children. Robert worked in construction all his life and had his own excavating business RB Holly Excavating. In his later years, Robert was a delivery driver for NAPA auto parts in Hanover, formerly Nied's Auto Supply & Tunnessen Auto Parts. Robert enjoyed a hand of poker; going camping with his family; grilling up a good meal, or just picking the vegetables his green thumb grew in his garden. He rescued and cared for stray cats as he encountered them. He was preceded in death by his daughters Barbara and Holly; and his brother Fred. Surviving are his wife Barbara, Hanover; sons Robert and his wife Felicia, California; Albert and his wife Christine, Zionsville; George and his girlfriend Gail, Ashley; grandchildren Melinda; Micah; Richard; and Ian; brother Albert and his wife Barbara, Binghamton , NY; sister Connie Ciampi and her husband James, Exeter; and nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. We will all miss him. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
