Mr. Raymond H. Zingaretti, 89, of Bear Creek, died Monday, May 1, 2023, while in hospice care at the River View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Plains Township. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Nancy Brown Zingaretti.
Born in the Keystone section of Plains Township on November 25, 1933, he was a son of the late Angelo and Zenaide Pennoni Zingaretti. Ray was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, class of 1952.
After graduating school, Ray enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict in Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he was honorably discharged after his four-year term of service.
Returning home, Ray joined his brothers in the operation of Heights Poultry Market, the family poultry business in Wilkes-Barre until its closure in 1972. Ray retired from the U.S.D.A. after serving as a food inspector for twenty years.
Ray enjoyed playing golf with his friends and sons, but his true passion was his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them grow and participate in many sporting events. He enjoyed being on the sideline watching them play and cheering them on.
